Progress Reports

With the onset of the Parent Portal, we will NO LONGER provide a Progress Report to ALL students. Parents can log on to the Parent Portal site at https://dcps.mygradeportal.com at any time to see their child’s current grades. Remember to use https- this is a secure site.
We will be sending home a Progress Report for students in danger of receiving a D or F. This report should be signed and returned to the teacher to confirm that you are aware of your child’s situation.
If you do not have your username and password for the Parent Portal, please bring a picture ID to the office and we will provide it to you.

Craft Show

You're invited! Sheffield is hosting its Fourth Annual Christmas Jewelry and Craft Show on Thursday, December 3rd. It will be held in the Media Center from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Our crafters are Sheffield staff and/or their families. Get your Christmas shopping done without fighting the crowds in the mall or area stores.
You'll find something for everyone on your Christmas list. Look for cloth books, wooden novelty banks, necklaces, earrings, ornaments and much more. Enjoy some holiday music and "goodies" while you shop. Mark your calendars for this exciting once a year event.!

PTA Corner

Remember, we still need volunteers to help our Panthers SEE well. Vision screening is November 19 &20. Please call Kim DiGiorgi to volunteer – 887-6194.
Sell your old gold and silver in the Media Center on November 20 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. You walk away with a little extra holiday cash and the school will also benefit!
Studio City will be here taking pictures for the holidays on November 20 and 21. That’s right- the 21st is a Saturday! Look for a flyer soon.

Vision Screening

We will be conducting VISION SCREENING this month. Students need to see well if they are going to do well in school. This month we will screen our students to see who is having trouble seeing the board and ask their parents to have their doctor’s check them out.
Of course, the success of this screening depends on having lots of volunteers on hand to work with the students. Please call Kim DiGiorgi to volunteer – 887-6194.

Toys for TOTS

It may seem early, but the holiday season is underway! This year Sheffield is going to be a collection site for the Marine's Toys 4 Tots program. In the past, they have helped us provide toys for families in our own school, so we would like to give back this year with so many families in need. Please donate a new, unwrapped toy for a girl or a boy of any age.
We will be collecting toys from November 2nd - December 15th in the bin located by the main entrance and are looking forward to helping many families have a good holiday this year!

Book of the Month

This month’s character trait is Patriotism. The Superintendent has chosen the book: Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope as our book of the month. In this book, a mother is telling her child the story of our President’s childhood and struggle to overcome many adversities in his life.
The focus is on the ways we can show patriotism in our daily lives by showing respect to the flag and other symbols of America, learning about our country’s history and participating in their community.
